Varley Lightweight Antenna System (VLAS) for military satellite communications has international launch at IDEX

The VLAS is a revolutionary concept in deployable satellite communications packaging and construction.

Developed by Varley in co-operation with its partners to meet Australian Defence Force MILSATCOM Theatre Broadcast System Project specifications for a compact field deployable satellite terminal. Designed for rapid deployment and operation in support of land based military units.

VLAS is designed specifically for Military use in the field. Offering rapid deployment and tear down time of less than ten minutes. This fully self-contained unit can be man-transported, air dropped or added with general cargo.

Designed to utilise a leading edge content delivery engine supported by commercial satellite communication products with Type 1 Military encryption. Easy user configuration flexibility for a range of satellite communication roles including broadcast reception, transmission and duplex operation.
