The Arab Health Congress comprises of 14 individual conferences held over four days and will run parallel to the main exhibition. Over 250 of the worlds leading experts will share their knowledge and expertise to an esteemed audience of CEO's, ministry officials and medical professionals from across the region. Over 4,000 regional specialists are expected to attend the congress in addition to the 30,000 visitors who are expected to visit the exhibition.

The scheduled conferences at Arab Health 2005 will cover high profile topics such as, Imaging and Diagnostics, Diabetes, Plastic Surgery, Wounds, as well as updates on orthopaedics, dentistry, oncology, laboratory medicine and complementary medicine. In addition, it will host discussions on partnering for quality care, hospital design upgrade and the AACME Workshop 2005.

"The presence of such an array of regional and international experts who will address the conferences points to the growing stature of the healthcare market in the region. The aspirations of the UAE to grow into a destination for healthcare tourism adds to the interest that international medical specialists as well as equipment developers and manufacturers have shown in the specialist conferences." said John Hassett, Exhibition Director, Arab Health 2005.

Factors contributing to the immense global interest in the region's healthcare sector include major medical projects such as Dubai Healthcare City, the International Medical Center (IMC) Jeddah and the SAAD Specialist Hospital & Medical Centre from Saudi Arabia. In addition, the fast growing Arab populations are bolstering the uptake of medical services in the region.

One of the consequences of this exponential growth has been a demand for a wider variety of continuous medical education programs to update the growing pool of physicians and other paramedical staff in the region. The specialist conferences at Arab Health 2005 aim to do just that, by bringing the latest global thinking, techniques and practices from varied medical disciplines to the region.

"We are confident that the choice of topics to be discussed with the participation of internationally renowned experts makes attending the specialist conferences a must for medical practitioners, marketers and ancillary workers in the medical profession," concluded Hassett.
