Held at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibitions Centre from 12th - 17th February 2005, the program includes the Gulf Defence Conference (GDC) and the Exhibition covering every Defence aspect of Air, Land and Sea domains.
IDEX 2005 is held under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and is expected to attract over 70 international official and military delegations.
The Gulf Defence Conference (GDC), along with the Press Day, will be conducted on 12th February with the Exhibition running from 13th - 17th February 2005.
Speakers at the GDC include an international array of experts and serving Defence specialists who will present a range of topics as diverse as:
• global threats facing GCC nations and impact on their equipment needs;
• littoral threats, challenges and possible solutions for the GCC; and
• Emergency response systems and coordination for terrorism threats.
With some 880 exhibitors from over 40 countries, the Exhibition provides access to the world's Defence Industry. The opportunity for companies to demonstrate their products is not limited to their pavilion or static displays. Demonstration possibilities also include:
• Vehicle Mobility Demonstrations;
• Marine Demonstrations; and
• Live Firing Demonstrations.
There will be a strong presence and representation from Military Forces from around the globe as demonstrated by the fact that there are 14 ships from 10 different countries present, including:
• 1 Destroyer
• 1 Submarine
• 7 Frigates
• 2 Corvettes
• 2 Support ships
• 1 Landing Ship

Having been run every two years since February 1993, IDEX 2005 is the 7th International Defence Exhibition and Conference.
