Nokia 7710 widescreen multimedia smartphone now shipping

Nokia has announced that the Nokia 7710, the feature-packed multimedia smartphone, has started shipping in Europe & Africa.
The tri-band Nokia 7710 smartphone (GSM/GPRS/EGPRS 900/1800/1900), with its pen input and handwriting recognition, combines the capabilities of a smartphone and a handheld computer. This makes it suitable for a broad customer base, including business users.
The wide and high-quality touch screen with 65,536 colours makes the Nokia 7710 a pleasure to use for a variety of tasks. The powerful Nokia 7710 includes a full Internet browser, an integrated music player with stereo audio, an extensive set of video features such as playback, streaming and recording, a megapixel camera with 2x digital zoom and FM radio with Visual Radio client.
The Nokia 7710 has support for real-time push email, an antivirus and VPN client, free user memory of up to 90 MB as well as support for up to 1 GB MultiMediaCard (MMC), a full set of personal information management features, an on-screen keyboard and handwriting recognition. The Nokia 7710 runs on top of Symbian OS.
The connectivity options for the Nokia 7710 include a Pop-PortTM connector with USB and Bluetooth wireless technology for easy data transfer and PC synchronization.
The Nokia 7710 also takes weblogging mobile. The moblog client allows people to instantly publish their life experiences on the web in a simple environment. You can post pictures and text from your Nokia 7710 directly to the web and share your thoughts and memories with family and friends or anyone on the web.
Additionally, the Nokia 7710 smartphone will feature several mobile media applications* and services pre-installed on the 128 MB MMC (available in the sales package) such as the Mobipocket Reader.
The Mobipocket Reader gives the user access to thousands of titles including current bestsellers. With the Reader it is possible to purchase or download over-the-air eBooks from eBook stores like Mobipocket and eBooks Corporation.
The other add-on applications* from independent developers include Try & Buy applications, such as the Time Out City Guide to review city guides, many of the best restaurants and hotels around the world as well as the WorldMate to enjoy accurate global weather forecasts and world maps. All these applications and many more are designed to support and enhance your experience of the Nokia 7710 widescreen multimedia smartphone.
