  • PRESS RELEASE

Newly formed Palm Submarine Company makes its first public appearance at IDEX 2005 displaying a trio of cutting-edge submersibles as unique military, scientific and recreational applications.

Spearheading this innovative company is Herve Jaubert, CEO and Sanil Mohammed Subair, Project Manager. As a Former French Navy Commander, Herve has had 15 years experience in the Design, Development and use of Military Tactical Underwater Craft. Sanil has had over 15 years Project Management experience for Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation.

The compact one or two person "Stingray" provides exceptional visibility in a Semi-Dry cockpit that features ergonomically advanced Instrumentation and Control with its 4 mph speed and 6 mph range, The Stingray is ideal for Port Security, Hull Inspection and Search Missions.

Palm Submarine's advanced "Swimmer Delivery Vehicles" (SDV) can accommodate two or four or six or eight divers for missions requiring stealth and speed. The SDV can submerge in mere seconds, and can reach speeds of 25 knots on the surface and 6 knots underwater with its hybrid petrol/electric propulsion system. The SDV is light enough to be trailered and beached making it and ideal vehicle for swimmer deployment, inspection, assault and intelligence monitoring.

The starship of the new fleet of cutting edge submersibles is the 20m long "Intruder Submersible Patrol Vessel" (SPV). Configured for up to 10 swimmers and 6 crew members, the Intruder can submerge in less than a minute with a top surface speed of 25 knots. The vehicles innovative technology includes Telescopic Periscope, Radar, Chrome-Lithium Maintenance-free batteries, and Water Rocket Propulsion. There are no propellers or moving parts in this breakthrough propulsion system that is 40% more efficient than conventional propellers. The Intruder is ideal for underwater missions involving swimmer deployment, insertion or intelligence monitoring.

The "Scuba Jet" is a hands-free, low profile diver propulsion vehicle in a self-contained back pac configuration. Form-fitting to a divers back, the Scuba Jet will provide 90 minutes of propulsion at 3 knot speeds by using miniature water rocket propulsion nozzles and state-of-the art chromium-lithium, maintenance free battery packs.

Headquarters for Palm Submarines is at a new facility located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone. This modern, fully air-conditioned factory will employ over 200 workers and seven product lines.

The adjacent waterside training complex will feature a Test/Training Pool that measures 30mX15mX15m deep of comparable size of the NASA Test Tank. The first phase of Palm Submarine Factory is completed with the first products, Stingray, SDV, Intruder and Scuba Jet Suit. Proudly displayed at the IDEX Show.
