Citibank, a member of Citigroup, today launched the pioneering Teen Card, the first of its kind credit card, which targets young customers between 13 and 19 years old.
The Teen card carries a revolving credit limit of up to AED 500 and offers the cardholder a host of shopping offers at top merchants around the UAE. "At Citibank, we strive to keep up with customer needs by offering best-in-class banking service, evident in our range of superior products and services while also working towards our goal of providing financial education in the communities where we do business," said Rajeev Kakar, Regional Head for Citibank's Consumer Bank in Turkey, Middle East & Africa, who is based in UAE. "The Teen Card is a product designed to teach teenagers the responsibility and discipline of spending wisely. It is also a recognition of the youth consumer's aspirations and discerning tastes."
Citibank's consumer offer provides tailor-made banking solutions to a diverse clientele including credit cards, consumer loans, Citigold priority banking, investment services and bespoke private banking products. Keeping apace with the fast developing UAE market, the bank currently dominates UAE's credit card market and is a leading provider of consumer credit services including personal and auto loans. The personal banking offer is backed by the sophisticated CitiPhone Banking service, a virtual branch meeting all banking needs over the telephone.
