- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, February 15 - 2005 at 11:49
- PRESS RELEASE
Syd Mead, Hollywood's much-acclaimed futuristic conceptualist, designer and artist, will be making his first visit to the Middle East as part of a ground-breaking exclusive regionwide representation rights agreement with Vahid Associates - one of the region's leading strategic communications consultancies.
"The Middle East is a fantastic example of how reality is catching up with the future as the size, scope and vision of some of the region's projects clearly show," said Mead. "I would like to be a part of the region's horizon and help shape it for a better tomorrow."
Vahid Associates, headed by one of the region's leading visionaries, futurists and a protégé of Mead, Vahid Mehrinfar, signed the representation agreement with Syd Mead Incorporated Inc in an effort to bring Mead's insight and knowledge to a whole new generation of tomorrow's leaders.
"Mead's visit to this exciting region is to help the many industries and their leaders realise the promising future ahead and bring it alive for all to see," said Mehrinfar, Chief Executive Principal.
With over four decades of experience in the industry, Syd has published numerous books, his latest being Sentury, a highly acclaimed piece that has sold out across the globe. Vahid Associates plans to translate this work into Arabic and Farsi and market Syd Mead's other best-selling books throughout the region.
"It is essential that Syd's works are available to Middle Easterners, if required, in their own language at a time when a plethora of regional industries are taking huge steps forward," said Vahid.
An inspiration to many, Mead's track record spans working as a car designer for Ford Motor Company to being a conceptualist/consultant on major Hollywood productions. Classics such as Bladerunner by Ridley Scott, 2010 by Peter Hyams, and Star Trek: The Motion Picture are among many of his achievements in the Hollywood scene.
