The exhibition is part of DTCM's continuous endeavor to promote Dubai to the European travel industry, with the support of the private sector. A total of 17 co-participants have joined hands with DTCM to represent Dubai at CONFEX 2005. This is the department's 13th consecutive participation at the show, which is being held at the UK QEII Conference Centre in London from February 15 to 17, 2005.

CONFEX is one of the largest and best-attended shows in the events industry with four main sectors focusing on Corporate Hospitality & Entertainment; UK Venues, Destinations & Incentive Travel; Exhibition & Conference Support Services and Overseas Venues and Destinations & Incentive Travel.

The UK is one of the biggest source markets for Dubai's tourism industry and participating at an important exhibition such as CONFEX is vital to DTCM's promotion campaign. The event will offer DTCM representatives an opportunity to strengthen Dubai's image among the UK Travel trade and the network of decision makers. There are currently 113 UK Overseas Tour Operators featuring Dubai as part of their itinerary.
Dubai's sunny weather, clean beaches and wide range of fun activities, ranging from desert safaris to water-sports, have made it the preferred choice for British tourists. The total number of tourists from the UK using hotel and hotel apartments facilities in Dubai in the first nine months of 2004 was 441, 274.

The 17 co-participants at CONFEX comprise the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Rotana Hotels Suites & Resorts, Net Group of Companies, Gulf Circle Tours, Alpha Tours, Desert Adventures, Planet Travels Tours & Cargo, Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa, Oasis Adventures, Desert Rangers Tours & Adventure Sport, Accor Hotels World Trade Centre, 1001 Events, Murex Destinations, The Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Madinat Jumeirah, JW Marriott Dubai and Arabian Adventures.

DTCM's participation at CONFEX follows its successful showing at BIT 2005, part of the Italian International Tourism Exchange program, which concludes today (February 15) in Milan. DTCM occupied a 72 square metre stand at the exhibition along with 16 co-participants.
