Through the programme, scholarships worth 50% of tuition fees have been awarded to well qualified candidates, enabling them to take up places on the University's Masters programmes in Information Technology and Project Management.

Tim Askew, Managing Director for Atkins Middle East, comments: "The Atkins group is committed to investing in education and developing closer working relationships with key educational institutions. We are therefore pleased to support The British University in Dubai by providing scholarships for post-graduate students. We hope that our partnership with the university will help to encourage students in this region to pursue a post-graduate education and to learn from the best in British educational standards."

This partnership follows on from scholarships provided by DUCAB, Emirates Group, and Dubai Duty Free. By offering scholarships to students of the British University in Dubai, these organisations demonstrate their commitment to developing Dubai into a centre of academic excellence.

David Lock, Registrar and Acting Chief Executive of BUiD said: "We are very pleased with this partnership which will provide scholarships for post-graduate students at the university. This has enabled well qualified and well motivated students to study at BUiD and provides them with continuous support to ensure that they get the most out of their studies. We have been very impressed by the high calibre of previous scholarship students and are delighted that this opportunity has been extended to more applicants."

The scholarships have been awarded to high achieving, well qualified students who might not otherwise be able to study a Masters programme.

BUiD welcomed its second intake of students in January and is already receiving applications for entry in September.
