UNB offers training courses for new local employees

UNB has conducted training courses for new local employees during January and February, 2005.

Recently, Banking Operations Course was held for three days at UNB's head office, in Abu Dhabi. Many local staff attended the course from different branches of the Bank.

Emiratization Department planned several courses in cooperation with Training Department for local employees. These courses were tailored for specific age and culture categories to motivate activation between them. Various and specialized instructors presented Banking Operations Course with real life examples.

Mohamed Al Fardan, one of the new joiners said "Productive work environment in UNB makes us feel loyal to this great company, and we will work hard with all our effort to contribute in UNB's success." Nasreen Al Braiki added "The course has improved our skills and knowledge through interacting discussions, questions and answers. I am interested in joining the coming courses in UNB." Arwa Al Saeedi said "This is one of the most important courses I joined; it provided me with an ideal customer service standards knowledge, I was also introduced to other local staff working in different branches. We discussed important issues in banking operations."

Emiratization Department at UNB has a consistent plan for locals; starting from their joining until they are officially recruited. In addition, Emiratization Dept organizes meetings with local staff to discuss the difficulties they face either in their departments or in banking sector. The department assists to solve these problems by providing advice for newly graduates who have no work experience.

In 2004 UNB recruited 6.5% locals of its work force. UNB is continuing the mission of recruiting locals and giving them proper training in different branches. The percentage of locals passed 18% this year. Ahmed Al Hosani, Assistant Vice -President and Emiratization Manager said "Emiratization plan in 2005 focuses on increasing locals' percentage in UNB with scheduled programs to continue this path with creative and productive local employees.
