American Express space invaders lands award

OgilvyOne Middle East has received an international industry award for "space invaders" a web advertisement created for American Express card Blue credit card acquisition.
Eddie Moutran, Chairman of Memac Ogilvy presented the Midas Award to Trevor Stokes, President and CEO of American Express MENA and Maysara Al Ghadban, UAE Card Marketing Manager.
Present also were James Duthie, Managing Director of OgilvyOne. Stokes commented on receiving the award: "Amex is very pleased with our partnership with OgilvyOne which has achieved excellent results for Amex in the UAE allowing us to double our card base in 2004."
Eddie Moutran said: "Good advertising is always a product of a close partnership between client and agency. This award is a tribute to the creativity, great thinking and hardwork of the OgilvyOne and American Express UAE team. Our remarkable 20 year partnership with American Express has spawned many achievements as well as regional and international awards.
Duthie, added: "I am delighted that this fruitful relationship continues to deliver creative output that really is best in class on a global scale. The Midas Gold Award is testimony to this."
OgilvyOne Middle East won the Gold Award for the Midas Product and Service category and was the only agency in the United Arab Emirates to receive an award in this international ceremony. In 2004 ceremony, 19 Gold and 15 Silver Midas Awards were distributed between thirteen countries. The Midas committee acknowledges not only the campaign but also the effectiveness of the results, making them very important awards for agencies and clients.
