MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) flies 2 Bahraini AMA female students to Scotland

In keeping with its commitment to education in the kingdom, MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) is co-sponsoring a group of AMA Model United Nations Society members whom have been chosen to attend the 10th Harvard World Model United Nations Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland from 26th March till 2nd April 2005.
'On behalf of the AMA Model United Nations Society, we would like to thank MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) for sponsoring young talented Bahraini students to attend this rewarding international conference', commented Doris Martin, Student Affairs Director and Model United Nations Director, at AMA International University Bahrain.
Ms. Martin explained that Harvard World Model United Nation is the most authentic United Nations experience possible. There will be around 1000 delegates from over 50 different countries and universities such as Oxford University, Cambridge University etc...
Through lively debate, exciting social events, and a unique conference spirit, WorldMUN experience reaches across cultures and borders to inspire both cooperation and friendship. This group would be the first to represent their country - Kingdom of Bahrain, their culture and their diversity.
From the first day in operation, MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) has been providing support to the Bahraini youngsters and the education sector in Bahrain. MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) has launched a 'Students Mobile Communications Package' scheme to help university students can get a 'top of the line laptop', high speed wireless Internet connection, eeZee prepaid line for a very affordable price and a very convenient installment plan.
The company also donated BD250,000 towards the e-Learning Center located in Sakhir campus at the University of Bahrain which will provide a world class learning infrastructure and environment for the development of scholarship, education, training, creativity and entrepreneurial experience.
Last summer the company hosted 23 Bahraini students, coming from different academical backgrounds, were divided over the company's various departments: PR, MarCom, Customer Service, Networking, Finance, IT and HR.
MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain), in collaboration with Al Hoora and Al Qudaibiya welfare association, also distributed thousands of school bags to Bahraini students through more than one hundred welfare association and sports clubs across the Kingdom.

MTC-Vodafone comes as a result of a Network Partner Agreement between the Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC), a GCC regional company, borne in Kuwait and Vodafone, a global company based in the UK. MTC-Vodafone, having been as chosen by Bahrain's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority to develop the 2nd GSM service, launched its services on December 28th, 2003.
