Reuters Gulf to support the Dubai Autism Resource Centre

Reuters Gulf, the leading global provider of financial information, news and technology to financial institutions, the media, businesses and individuals, has pledged its support to the Dubai Autism Centre (DAC) in the form of its information offering.

In a move which reaffirms Reuters' commitment to the region, Reuters will supply the Dubai Autism Centre with up-to-the-minute medical and technology information. The centre will benefit from having unlimited access to Factiva, currently appearing on more than 1.5 million desktops. A joint venture between Reuters and Dow Jones, Factiva provides data, global news and business information from over 8,000 sources from around the world, through its web sites and content integration solutions. Helping companies to integrate news and business information into their daily workflow, resulting in innovative and informed decision making, the centre will benefit from the extensive Factiva offering.
The Dubai Autism Centre is a non-profit organisation providing information, support, advice and training to professionals and parents of autistic children. The centre was started in November 2001 with the issuance of a decree from H.H. Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announcing plans to have a an Autism Centre in Dubai with its various services targeted towards encouraging a better understanding of autism and helping families and professionals.
