Abu Dhabi World Sand Golf Championship 2005 partners with Gulf Air, the official airline for the event

High profile Ryder Cup winners Colin Montgomerie, Paul McGinley and Miguel Angel Jimenez will be among the pro golfers playing at the tournament this year.

"We extend an invitation to all keen to participate so we can please as many golfers as we can."

Gulf Air teams will be represented by professional players, Barry Lane from England, a winner at the Daily Telegraph Damovo British Masters 2004, and Thongchai Jaidee from Thailand, who recently won the 2005 Carlsberg Malaysian Open. Gulf Air is also organizing qualifier packages for Golfers in the region to come and play the course and win the opportunity to compete in one of two Gulf Air Pro-Am teams at the tournament.

Gulf Air is offering two holiday packages to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur inclusive of return air tickets, accommodation at a 4-star hotel, transfer to and from the Airport. Visitors attending the Abu Dhabi World Sand Golf Championship at Al Ghazal Golf Club are encouraged to drop their business cards in the raffle drum to qualify for the Gulf Air draw.

Gulf Air Holidays is also offering a range of competitively priced weekend packages, which include return airfare to Abu Dhabi, two nights accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis along with two days car hire. The package also includes entry into the qualifier Golf tournament.

Al Ghazal Golf Course is one of the world's leading sand courses with fairways sculpted from sand and 'browns' as opposed to 'greens'. The par 71, 6600 yard course will be a challenging experience for all players. The 2005 Abu Dhabi World Sand Golf Championship is sponsored by Abu Dhabi Duty Free and ADNOC, the national oil company. The World Sand Golf Championships is a joint venture between Abu Dhabi Duty Free and Professional Sports Events Ltd.
