UNB holds seminar on Alternative Investments & Structured Products

Union National Bank (UNB), in association with ABN AMRO Bank, London, conducted a two-day seminar on Alternative Investments & Structured Products at the Royal Le Meridien Hotel in Abu Dhabi on February 20th and 21st.
Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Fuad Zeidan, Senior Vice President and Head of UNB's Treasury & Investments Division emphasized the importance of this seminar to UNB as one of UAE's leading National banks. Mr. Zeidan pointed out that UNB has a particular focus on maximizing customer care and satisfaction by offering the best range of products & services suited to the risk-return profile of UNB's customers.
Mr. Zeidan added that the global banking industry has undergone tremendous transformation in the last few years. The industry has witnessed unprecedented product innovation and financial re-engineering, and the UAE has not been an exception. Leading banks in the UAE, including UNB, have introduced innovative structured financial instruments with numerous underlying asset classes.
Studies have shown that there is tremendous potential for growth in the area of alternative investments and structured products in the UAE. Through seminars such as this, UNB is placing increasing focus on this key business line, with the objective of accepting professional challenges and making available the most innovative product solutions for its customers.
The seminar was attended by about 45 participants from different areas of banking business. As part of the future plans of UNB, the Training Department of the Bank proposes to organize in future several more such seminars in other areas of relevance and interest.
