U.S Robotics presents the Middle East's most cost effective and simple wireless USB adaptor
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, March 01 - 2005 at 11:18
- PRESS RELEASE
Consumers and home office/small business users can now easily and simply increase access to their wireless networks with U.S. Robotics newly launched USB wireless adapter (USR5422), the most cost effective in its class in the high street retail sector.
"Adding a new user to an existing wireless network to enable them to share secure internet access, files and peripherals such as printers couldn't be easier - just plug in the USB adapter and away you go," says Peter Blampied, Director of Sales and Operations U.S. Robotics EMEA. "It is also perfect for travelling as it is the size of a key ring. If you are staying in a hotel with a compatible wireless LAN, all you have to do is plug in the adapter and you can get internet connection from the hotel lobby, bar or anywhere. The same applies with airports and other wireless hotspot locations."
The USR 5422 USB wireless adapter supports Universal Plug and Play for simple installation. It works for both desktop and laptop PCs by simply plugging into any USB port, eliminating the need to open the case of a desktop computer in order to fit a PCI card. An additional advantage is the USB's wireless power control, which means that it uses minimum transmit power preserving the life of a laptop battery. The USR 5422 is compatible with all 802.11b or g 11Mbps and 54Mbps products on the market. It provides enhanced Wireless Security with both WEP 64/128 bit and WPA 64/128 support.
The USR 5422 Wireless USB Adapter is now available from all retail outlets like Quality Computers, ABC, Plug In Electronix, Etech, CompuME, Jarrir Bookstore, amongst others in the Middle East.
