European aircraft operators can now have their crews trained at ECFT without the need to revalidate the type rating with their national licencing authority.

Europe's Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) has granted Type Rating Training Organisation (TRTO) status to ECFT for meeting its requirements for flight crew licencing training programmes and training operations, in addition to the training centre's full-flight simulators and technical operations.

TRTO status is allows the ECFT to offer its own type rating training programmes, in addition to 'dry' training services.

ECFT's Managing Director David Barette said: "We are very pleased that JAA has granted TRTO status to our training programmes which already have approval from the US aviation authority, the FAA.

"We are now able offer our European customers a full training and licencing service that complies with their national regulations."

Emirates-CAE Flight Training is jointly operated by Emirates and CAE under a long-term teaming agreement.
