Sony Ericsson connects phone and home entertainment
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, March 01 - 2005 at 11:24
- PRESS RELEASE
Sony Ericsson tapped into real consumer desire today, acknowledging that as it is now possible to capture and enjoy superb pictures, video and music on a mobile phone, more people want to share it.
"The MMV-200 turns the phone into a flexible hub at the centre of your entertainment equipment and could not be more simple to use," said Al-Assi at a region-wide press conference. "The MMV-200 isn't restricted to communicating with just one phone. Bluetooth™ is a flexible form of wireless communication and any Bluetooth™-enabled phone will communicate with the MMV-200. So you can invite your friends around to share their favourite video, or to pool music tracks with everyone using their phones to send content to your TV or stereo."
With a Sony Ericsson MMV-200 plugged into their hi-fi, users can simply transfer sound files from the phone to the sound system via Bluetooth™ and listen to them through their bigger speakers. Image transfer is just as easy as photos and video clips can be viewed with friends and family comfortably around the home TV with the MMV-200 plugged directly into the TV, running pictures and sound simultaneously.
For large numbers of picture and sound files, a memory card can be used to store them and slot into the Sony Ericsson MMV-200. The phone can then be used as a remote control to flip through images or search for music tracks. A truly versatile device, Sony Ericsson's MMV-200 accepts all kinds of memory cards - from phone, PC or digital camera.
The MMV-200 will be available in Q2 2005.
