Batelco keeps customers 'in the picture'
- Bahrain: Tuesday, March 01 - 2005 at 17:40
- PRESS RELEASE
Batelco is launching its new GPRS and MMS roaming service, giving customers who are traveling abroad the ability to stay in touch with family, friends and colleagues via a host of extra mobile services including pictures, video clips, email and access to the Internet.
"Batelco's new MMS/GPRS Roaming service enables customers to send and receive MMS messages and browse the Internet through GPRS directly from their mobile phones whilst traveling," explains Hamza Ali, Senior Manager - Mobile Services at Batelco.
"Batelco customers who are unsure of their mobile phone's ability to use MMS should visit any Batelco shop where staff can advise them and help to set-up MMS, where possible," he added.
Batelco has offered the MMS service to customers within Bahrain since 2003, and in early 2004, the company announced MMS interconnect agreements with its counterparts in Kuwait (Wataniya) and Jordan (Mobilecom), which enabled the use of MMS messaging between customers of the three companies.
"Today's announcement takes Batelco's products and services offering one massive step forward and will prove to be valuable to business and leisure users, alike," says Hamza.
"Our new service will change how our customers communicate while roaming. Whether it's surfing the net for news from home while in the back of a taxi cab in New York City, sending pictures of the children home from a family holiday in Singapore or checking their emails via their mobile phone from a meeting room in Dubai, Batelco will make communicating even more enjoyable, fun and convenient for all segments of our market."
