FedEx' support of the event signifies the importance the company attaches to the region. As one of the fastest-growing markets in the world, FedEx is confident of the new business potential across the Middle East.

A high level delegation from FedEx will be participating in the conference. In the opening day address, Hamdi Osman, Regional Vice President, FedEx Middle East, Indian Sub-Continent and Africa will focus on customer relationships, in a speech entitled "Working with the air freight forwarder." Brian Britnor, Regional Manager, GSP and Airline Sales, FedEx, spoke on the second day of the conference, addressing the topic of added value to customers, one of the most vital elements of FedEx's core business.

Commenting on the announcement, Hamdi Osman said, "We are committed to the Middle East region, as demonstrated by our recent investments, service enhancements and milestones. We opened a new facility in Bahrain in December 2004 and we have a purpose-built hub at Dubai International Airport, which serves as the major pipeline to markets in this part of the world."

To date, FedEx has made considerable service enhancements across the region, including next-day delivery to GCC states by midday, and next-day service to the USA, Europe and key Asian destinations from the UAE all supported by a Money-Back Guarantee. The most recent additions to Middle East services have been the launch of Global Trade Manager and FedEx Invoice Online.

FedEx began operations in the Middle East in 1989 when its regional headquarters and gateway facility were established in Dubai. The Dubai office is now the regional office for the entire Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa region.

Held under the patronage of H.E. Sultan Saeed Al Mansoori, the UAE Minister of Communications and Chairman of Emirates Post, The World Mail, Express & Air Cargo Expo Middle East & Africa follows the success of other, similar industry conferences around the world and marks the 22nd in a world series that currently incorporates Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas.
