New assignments in the Personal Systems Group of HP Middle East

HP (NYSE:HPQ) has announced that Hazem M. Bazan has taken on the role of acting General Manager, Personal Systems Group Manager for the Middle East in addition to his existing responsibilities as HP's Solutions Partner Organisation Manager for the Middle East.

As such, Hazem will continue to drive and implement HP's channel strategies in the region and lead the Desktop, Mobile and Handhelds business unit.

Former General Manager of Personal Systems Group for HP Middle East, Christoph Schell will now be fully dedicated to his role as Director & Head of the Solution Partner Organization for East & Central Europe, Middle East and Africa (International Sales Europe).

Prior to this appointment, as Solutions Partners Organization manager, Hazem was responsible for the entire channel organization portfolio, which encompasses LSP (Logistic Service Partners), CDP (Channel Development Partners) and Sales & Service Partners (SSP). In this respect, he was in charge of managing channel partners, systems resellers as well as commercial distribution.

Hazem previously spearheaded the commercial channel at HP Middle East and led channel initiatives across all business units. Before the HP merger, he was posted at Compaq for 5 years where he excelled in his role as the manager of the channel sales team and was in charge of channel development, training and management of key accounts. Prior to his role as channel manager, Hazem was heading the PC business unit as BU manager where he brought new initiatives to the Middle East and developed joint activities with key SW vendors thus maintaining the business unit's market leadership and profitability.

Hazem was a key driver in executing consolidation of the channel landscape once the merger took place. His accomplishments include developing the SMB initiative across the Middle East, overachieving on channel sales targets across all business units for the year 2003 and winning an award at the annual Top achievers, winners' summit held recently in Mexico.
