Philips announces new CEO for the Middle East region

Philips Electronics Middle East and Africa announced today the appointment of Mr. Louis Hakim as the new CEO for the Middle East region effective March 1, 2005 taking over from Mr. Robert van de Riet who will relocate and head the Regional Management of Philips' domestic appliances and personal care division in Latin America.
Mr. Hakim stated, "This is an exciting opportunity for me personally. With the ongoing business developments in Dubai and the Middle East region, I feel honored to be involved in leading the company in today's competitive market economy. I look forward to making a valuable contribution to the future of Philips, and to add greater value to the community."
