- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, March 06 - 2005 at 10:04
- PRESS RELEASE
Emirates Glass, regional market leaders for premium glass products, has won three major contracts to supply a massive 40,000 square meters of glass to prestigious projects coming up in Dubai.
The first project is for the Al Nasr Club Residential Building, a luxurious residence on the Oud Mehta Road in Dubai. Emirates Glass will be using its renowned product EmiCool Sun NN Green, the multifunctional low-e glass of Emirates Glass. The Waterfront Tower, another residential tower coming up at downtown Dubai's Jumeirah Lakes development, has decided to go for EmiCool Sun NN Blue Green. The third contract is for the office building at the rapidly expanding Dubai Airport Free Zone (Dafza), for which the company will be supplying its Emicool Classic CR 14 Blue.
EmiCool, EmiCool Plus and EmiCool Sun are high performance coated glass products from Emirates Glass that are used widely throughout the region and beyond. The EmiCool Comfort System is a large range of custom-designed solar and thermal control glass providing generous levels of daylight whilst giving superior control of heat gain according to climate. The system offers a wide combination of sputtered coatings on various available glass substrates creating a large showcase of colours. These specialized custom-made products also offer acoustic insulation.
"Emirates Glass is the only company in the region that focuses on high performance glass coatings and their specific relevance to hot climates. Through our EmiCool range of products, we continuously strive to create the most cost-effective and environmentally adaptable product to suit the needs of the regional and international markets, said Mr Ziad Yazeck.
Emirates Glass announced during the November 2004 Big 5 show the largest single glass supply deal ever, according to which it will supply more than 100,000 square meters of its revolutionary EmiCool products to the massive construction of 40 towers at the celebrated Jumeirah Beach Residence development in Dubai.
The company also invested last year AED 16 million (3.4 million Euros) for the forced convection furnace recognized as the largest tempering furnace available in the world as well as additional machinery to expand the present production line.
All high performance EmiCool Classic, EmiCool Plus, Emicool Super E2 and EmiCool Sun glass types have a product code which acts as a shorthand description of the colour of the coating, the colour of the substrate glass and the nominal percentage of visible light transmittance. For most commercial applications 6mm is the standard glass-thickness and the product code generally includes an additional description regarding the "condition" of the glass. EmiCool's durable, transparent metallic coatings are applied directly to float glass substrates using Leybold's Magnetic Sputter Vacuum Deposit (MSVD) technology.
