- PRESS RELEASE
Major apparel retailer the Al Madani Group has completed the roll out of a new Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains ERP system, to help it improve distribution operations and enhance efficiency.
The Al Madani Group is the Master licensee for Hang Ten in the Middle East and is the sole distributor for Levi's®, Dockers® and GAS in the UAE and Oman.
"Great Plains and Microsoft Retail Management Solution has allowed us to introduce much greater efficiency into our retail operations," said Mohammad Al Madani, Chairman & CEO of Al Madani Group. "We had out-grown our previous system, and therefore needed a solution that could handle our operations across the region. Great Plains was able to offer all the functionality we needed, as well as giving us much greater insight into our business processes. This has not just increased our efficiency, but allowed us to make savings through leaner inventory and other improvements."
The deployment includes a range of different Great Plains modules that meet the different requirements of Al Madani Group, including multicurrency management to handle international operations. All five of the company's warehouses have been automated with Great Plains. The project also uses Microsoft Retail Management Solution, a point-of-sale solution that is integrated with Great Plains, to link the front-end operations of 36 Al Madani stores with head office and Great Plains.
"Tight management of business processes is essential for any retailer with operations spread across different countries, such as Al Madani Group. With Great Plains, retailers are able to tie different systems together, from the front to the back end of their business, to really have proper control over the flow of goods," said Arvind Nair, COO of Jumbo Electronics.
The Great Plains platform will also provide Al Madani Group with the infrastructure basis to deploy other systems that will also help the group to improve efficiency and leverage on improved vision of business processes.
"Microsoft Great Plains not only provides companies with a very powerful, cost effective ERP solution, but it also has a high level of integration with other Microsoft Business Solutions applications such as Microsoft CRM. This enables customers and partners to build solutions that provide new functionality as they require it to match their business growth plans," said Soha Kamal, Regional Products Group Manager, Microsoft Business Solutions, Microsoft Middle East & Africa.
