In a Middle East first, the Etisalat subsidiary will use the show to demonstrate, in collaboration with Thomson, the capability of its cable network in receiving and transmitting High Definition Television (HDTV) content.

The collaboration will allow E-Vision to deploy Thomson's HD decoder technology to deliver life-like High Definition Television (HDTV) content over its cable network.

Humaid Rashid Sahoo, E-Vision's Chief Executive Officer, said: "CABSAT offers the broadcast industry an invaluable opportunity to showcase its offerings to other companies and to the public. E-Vision hopes to capitalise on the event to demonstrate the use of high-tech in the cable industry and TV entertainment."

E-Vision will take the opportunity presented by CABSAT 2005 to demonstrate its in-house developed Interactive Services. The TV Mail Messaging Service will allow E-VISION to send important messages to customers, informing them of the introduction of new Channels and Services, Special Offers and Service updates. It will also preview its Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), which promises to be the gateway to all of its services and will act as the Search-Engine for Television Programming, Pay-Per-View and Radio.

E-Vision has major plans for Interactive Services in 2005, with a number of new Games, Services and Enhanced Programming already in the pipeline.

To facilitate the growing demand for domestic high-speed Internet in the country, E-Vision also provides the Al Shamil high-speed Internet Cable-Modem package over its fiber-optic cable network. This complements the existing high-speed DSL network, which delivers broadband to the home via the copper telephone infrastructure.

E-Vision was established in 2000, and is a platform for the most prestigious bouquets on the market. It offers packages from Showtime, Orbit, ART, Firstnet and Pehla. In addition, to its own E-Vision package.
