- PRESS RELEASE
Since the announcement by EPSON of its pioneering PRINT Image Matching (P.I.M.) technology, it has become widely and positively accepted throughout the market and industry, winning numerous prestigious accolades such as the awards for 'Best Imaging Technology' from TIPA and 'Innovation of the Year' from EISA.
In addition, enabling users to incorporate the P.I.M. technology as part of the digital workflow, EPSON announced an Adobe PhotoShop 'Plug-In' at the Annual Convention and Trade Show of the Photo Marketing Association. "With the high number of PIM-enabled devices on the market today, Adobe realises the importance of adding support for this technology into Photoshop and our other imaging products," commented Kevin Connor, director of Digital Imaging Products, Adobe Systems. "We are happy that we could work together with Epson to make this a reality."
Today marks a major milestone in the development of the P.I.M. technology as EPSON discloses its assistance in the development of a new open standard - Exif 2.2 - that incorporates some of the P.I.M. based parameters.
Khalil El Dalu, EPSON Middle East General Manager, says, "We are extremely happy about this achievement and excited about continued growth of the P.I.M. concept. Our next goal will be to continue to develop the P.I.M. technology that has huge potential for allowing everyone to truly enjoy the full capability of digital photography."
This announcement paves the way for EPSON to continue its development efforts on the P.I.M. technology, with a super-set of the current PRINT Image Matching technology, planned for release in the near future.
