ADNH sponsors World Sand Golf Championship

The World Sand Golf Championship will be held at the Al Ghazal Golf Club, under the patronage of his H.E Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation.

Al Ghazal Golf Club is run by Abu Dhabi International Airport and is an 18-hole, par-71 sand course measuring 6,711 yards off the white tees. After last year's successful tournament the WSGC has become a firm fixture on the international golfing calendar, attracting numerous top golfers.

Abu Dhabi National Hotel's sponsorship of the event will involve providing accommodation to all golfers at the Hilton Hotel Abu Dhabi. ADNH's Al Ghazal will also be the official transportation provider for both guests and golfers.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Peter Cardnell, Director General of ADNH, said: "For years, ADNH has been associated with events, both as an organiser and sponsor. Our relationship with sports events includes sponsorship of the Ghantoot Golden Polo Cup and the annual power boat race. We also maintain a firm belief in working with the community to promote sports through sponsorship of many local teams,"

The tournament will attract international media coverage in over 30 countries. Some top international players are set to battle it out on March 7, including European Tour champion Thongchai Jaidee, Ryder Cup heroes Colin Montgomerie, Miguel-Angel Jimenez and Paul McGinley and around 20 other European Tour winners and players will also compete.
