Batelco sponsors the 24th Bahrain Open Golf Tournament

For the second consecutive year, Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco) sponsors The Bahrain Open Golf Tournament due to be held on Awali Club's course on 10 - 11 March 2005.
Ninety participants, of which more than 40 Bahraini players, will take part in this year's championship, representing the Kingdom of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, UK, US, Finland, South Africa, Japan and South Korea. David Park, who won last year's championship, is taking part in this contest to defend his title.
Batelco's sponsorship translates the company's commitment to all sporting endeavours in the Kingdom of Bahrain aiming to illustrate the honourable status of the kingdom and post it in a prominent position of the global sporting map.
"We are delighted to be the main sponsor of this championship that brings in global golf experience for the Bahraini and the Gulf youths to help them enhance their sporting skills", explains Ahmed Al Janahi, Head of Corporate Affairs at Batelco.
"Batelco invests huge amounts of money in a number of local sporting events that contribute to enhancing skills of the Bahraini youths and prepare them to represent the Kingdom in the international sporting arenas", added Ahmed.
The 24th Bahrain Open Golf Tournament forms part of the company's commitment to sporting excellence within The Kingdom of Bahrain. Other major Batelco sports sponsorships include: The Bahrain National Football Team, the Bahrain Premier League, Bahrain International Circuit, The Bahrain National Basketball Team and League and the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation, as well as a number of additional golf sponsorships.
