Cutting-edge technology solutions go on display at CABSAT

A wide array of electronic media products, equipment and accessories designed to enable the regional industry keep pace with global trends went on display at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) today as His Highness Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director General, Department of Information - Dubai inaugurated the 11th edition of the Middle East International Cable, Satellite, Broadcast & Communications Exhibition (CABSAT 2005).
The event focuses on three main industries: Cable and Satellite, Communications and Broadcast & Production. Major players participating at CABSAT this year in the cable and satellite sector include: Viaccess, HomeCast, Eurostar, Echostar, E-Vision, Triax, Topfield, HomeCast, Kaon, Technosat, SMART, SMT, Skyworth, Fortec, Thomson Broadband, ABO, Dynavision, Dubai TV and Al Majd. In the communications sector, participating exhibitors include Arabsat, Eutelsat, Intelsat, New Skies, Globcast, Hellas, SES Americom, Viasat, NSTT, Newsat, Atlas Communications, Horizon Satellite, Streamlink, ND Satcom, Newtec, Bond and Speedcast.
The broadcast and production sector has attracted the participation of Sony, Thomson, Panasonic, JVC, Pinnacle, Leitch, Matrox, SeaChange, IBM, Omneon, Egripment, Vinten, Sachtler, Miller, Technoocrane, Axon, Fujinon, Hitachi, Canon, Discreet, Avid, Alias Wavefront, Salam, Tek Signals, Soft Edit, Oasis, Glocom, Dubai Media City and SAMACOM to name a few.
New exhibitors at the event include AVID, ArabSat, Speedcast, Streamlink, Snell & Wilcox, IBM, SAMACOM, Dubai Media City, SES Americom, NSTT, Hi Net, Amphenol, Belden, Thomson Broadband, Thomson Broadcast & Media Solutions, NMK, Shure, Huber & Suhner, Reel Multimedia and Miranda.
CABSAT 2005 features a Broadcasting Conference organised by the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union, in association with Arab States Broadcasting Union and in co-operation with the International Association Of Broadcasting Manufacturers.
The event also features the inaugural Middle East Satellite Summit organised by the Global Satellite Forum (GVF). The one-day summit will provide delegates with valuable insights into cutting-edge broadcasting and telecommunications applications, the latest regulatory and policy trends, state-of-the-art technology, and successful business models.
