"The ballerina's visits to our outlets will create an opportunity for ballet fans to meet them in person, and will also give the dancers a chance to talk firsthand about what it means to perform classical ballet, one of the oldest and most highly regarded dance forms. Ballet is still perceived as a profession that is unattainable for most, but meeting real performers can be a motivating factor for talented youngsters who would like to pursue ballet as more than just an extra curricular activity," said Arun Nagar, Managing Director, Cellucom.

"Cellucom has been actively involved in promoting a wide range of cultural and entertainment and sporting activities in the region. Our association with the Russian State Ballet is a reinforcement of our appreciation of, and our commitment to, promoting arts, culture and entertainment in the UAE," said Nagar.

"We at Cellucom recognise that our sponsorship of the Russian State Ballet is a major contribution to availing the region's arts lovers of the opportunity to see one of the world's best loved ballet companies in action as they present their exciting and demanding programme of classical ballet," he added.

With its 50 soloists, many of whom are laureates of national and international ballet competitions, the Russian State Ballet is, along with the Bolshoi and the Kirov Ballets, ranked among the finest ballet companies in the world. Former President of the erstwhile USSR, Mikhail Gorbachev is known to greatly admire the dance company and has patronised several of its previous tours.

"We see Cellucom's sponsorship of The Russian State Ballet as pivotal to our Company's efforts to support performing arts and culture in the Middle East," concluded Nagar.
