Unesco head Koichiro Matsura has praised work carried out at a roundtable on the revitalisation of higher education in Iraq. Unesco will continue assisting Iraq in obtaining scientific and medical equipment and books, and developing and modernising its university curricula, infrastructures and services. Qatar, Korea, and Doha bank have pledged a total USD1.23m in aid.
