Beiersdorf AG names New Medical Centre 'Partner of the Year' for the second year in a row

Beiersdorf AG - trade mark owner of the famous NIVEA brand - awarded its UAE partner, New Medical Centre (NMC), the 'Partner of the Year' within the Middle East region for the second year in a row.

NMC achieved a percentage sales increase of +19% verses 2003 and an equally impressive compounding annual growth rate for the past 5 years of +17%, which has more than doubled sales during the same period, and is considered as a company with the highest exports growth in all the ME countries.

Robert Taylor-Hughes, General Manger for the Middle East & India commented:
"The partner of the year award is more than just about sales results, it is a combination of commitment to the brand, excellent levels of communication & co-operation with our company and above all the amount of individual effort a partner puts into developing our Beiersdorf business and awareness of our brands"

The award was presented at the annual Middle East conference in February, which this year was held in both Hamburg and Berlin. The award was presented by Mr. Bernd Schwache, Marketing Director for the Middle East region.

"We are proud to have received 'partner of the year' award six times in the past sixteen years, but this one was quite special as many of the eleven countries competing for the same award had such good results during 2004 and the decision was apparently a very close run thing" - stated B R Shetty CEO & Managing Director of New Medical Centre who accepted the award with his team B Shetty, V Nambiar & Vishal Suvarna, Country Manager for Beiersdorf brands, New Medical Centre.

Recently, Beiersdorf also announced a strong sales growth of 15% in 2004. Industry analysts expect Beiersdorf global sales to reach €4.5bn for 2004 and an operating result of about €480m, well above 10% of sales.

In addition, NIVEA was also recently short listed for some of its sterling work during 2004, especially for its excellence in integrated marketing campaigns, considered by the Annual Marketing Achievement Awards, which are hosted by Gulf Marketing Review magazine.
