- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, March 09 - 2005 at 13:34
- PRESS RELEASE
Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (Jafza) has announced that their participation in the Beauty International Trade Fair, that was held recently at the Dusseldorf Trade Fair Center, Germany, has attracted attention from prominent German companies to its cosmetics zone.
Commenting on their participation Ibrahim Al Janahi, Regional Manager, Europe, Jafza said, "This is the first time we are taking part in this event, which is one of the biggest events for the cosmetic industry in Germany. The main reason for our participation was to attract German cosmetic companies to set up operations in Jafza and we are pleased with the response we received for our recently launched Fragrance and Beauty Park. Several leading German companies have expressed confirmed interest in establishing business in Jafza."
"The cosmetics and fashion industry is flourishing around the world, especially in Europe and the Middle East. Responding to this market demand, we have focussed on this sector by providing state-of-the art facilities at the Fragrance and Beauty Park, that will provide a boost to the cosmetics industry in the UAE and the wider Middle East region," added Al Janahi.
The Fragrance and Beauty Park will provide a way for existing manufacturers to consolidate their activities, as well as help new players enter the market. The Park will feature a full range of facilities like latest test labs, wholesale outlets, cooling stores and warehouses.
"The retail growth of the cosmetics industry in the Middle East region has been estimated at 20 per cent and the sale of cosmetics in Dubai has gone up by 72 per cent. Given the kind of surge in demand in the fragrance and cosmetics industry in the region, there is a huge market that can be tapped by regional and international companies. Jafza is today recognised as one of the top free zones of the world, with advanced infrastructure facilities and support services, which is being developed constantly," concluded Al Janahi.
