eCompany launches Virtual Private Network(VPN) Connect service for eHosting in the Data Centre

The Virtual Private Network (VPN) Host-Connect service targets corporate customers of the eCompany Data Centre who are looking for secure Internet connectivity with remote business sites, employees and partners.

The service allows business data to be conveyed securely across public networks and employs features such as tunnelling, encryption and authentication to ensure communication is protected. Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar, eCompany's General Manager, said: "This new option will prove advantageous for domestic companies and multinationals who use UAE as their regional hub. The service will help them to connect all their satellite offices in the Middle East and abroad to their servers hosted in the eCompany Data Centre.

"The launch of the VPN Host-Connect service complements the existing eHosting services provided by eCompany. The service shall be offered out of our Data Centre and will provide a cost-effective connectivity add-on that takes away the need for customers to set up their own infrastructure."

The VPN service offers customers two options for establishing a secure link to the hosted server. The first, CLIENT-2-NET, enables multiple remote single users to connect to the central server using a client VPN software.

The second option, NET-2-NET, allows multiple users at one location head office, for example to connect to the central servers through a VPN-enabled router. This option enables customer's remote Local Area Network (LAN) to be connected over an encrypted tunnel with the Virtual LAN (VLAN) inside the Data Centre.
