Nissan Motor Egypt receives Nissan's second regional 'Superbrand' accolade

  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, March 09 - 2005 at 17:20
  • PRESS RELEASE

The Egypt chapter of Superbrands (part of the UK Brand Council) has awarded NISSAN 'Superbrand Status' for 2004, an elite international rating that recognises exceptional brands in over 42 countries.

An independent Superbrands Council in each country scores candidates against internationally accepted standards, and the top brands are awarded Superbrand status.

This is the second time in the same year that Nissan gets the award, after being chosen to receive it in UAE before end of 2004.

Nissan's recognition comes in the wake of a complete business transformation that has seen it move from near extinction to become the world's second most profitable automaker. It was also noted that Nissan has enhanced its commitment towards communicating with its customers and public in the Middle East.

New models, new designs, and a fresh approach to service and customer care have combined to turn around Nissan fortunes - internationally and in the region - prompting the latest Superbrand accolade.

"A Superbrand offers consumers significant emotional and/or physical advantages over its competitors which (consciously or subconsciously) consumers want, recognize, and are willing to pay a premium for," a Superbrands Council spokesman said.

"Nissan has clearly demonstrated these attributes in full measure and that's why it has now been designated as a Superbrand in Egypt. We are all looking forward for the official start of Nissan's assembly plant operations in Egypt in summer 2005."

Mitsuji Sato, managing director of Nissan Motor Egypt, said: "This recognition paid tribute to the efforts made in the past few years to build the brand in the Middle East and Africa with the expansion of its new line-up across the region.

"Our customers already see the difference for themselves and now this has been endorsed by an independent authority," he commented. "It is further proof of Nissan's dedication to delivering a total ownership experience in vehicles and after-sales care that belong in a class of their own."
