Panasonic introduces air-conditioners with revolutionary new air filter capable of inactivating 99 per cent of allergens

- PRESS RELEASE
Panasonic, the leading global manufacturer of consumer electronics and home appliances, has announced that its environment-related subsidiary, Matsushita Ecology Systems Co., Ltd., has developed a revolutionary air filter that can neutralize or inactivate a variety of airborne allergens and viruses.
The air-conditioners are the first of its kind, incorporating dual functionalities of 'air cleaning' courtesy the air filter and 'air creating' courtesy a Super Ioniser that generates rich negative ions.
"As the air we breathe is growing more polluted by the day, invisible pollutants threaten everyday health. Allergy cases are burgeoning; today one in three people is an allergy sufferer. Air conditioners have to be extra powerful to not just provide fresh air, but also ensure clean air quality by reducing pollutants and minimizing the risk of contact with allergens," said Masaki Okamoto, Product Manager, Air Conditioners, Panasonic Marketing Middle East FZE.
The air filter features a new anti-allergen material called Super Alleru-Buster. The Super Alleru-Buster filter contains a strong anti-Allergen material (Phenotic Hydroxyl Polymer) which catches and inactivates such allergens as dead dust mites and their waste products, pollen and cat dander, which ordinarily could pose great health hazards to man. This mode of inactivation is systematic: the allergens are caught by the filter - phenolic hydroxyl ions then cling to the allergens - the allergens are coated and inactivated. As a matter of action, 99% of allergens are inactivated by the product. This is the first filter in the world that has a demonstrated effectiveness in neutralizing animal dander or mold spores.
The new air conditioner is also effective in conserving energy as it is designed to ensure good airflow. The new flap design and Auto Air Swing function optimize room comfort by giving the user finer control over the airflow direction.
Other features include a Supersonic Air Purifying System with a Supersonic wave that collects dust particles for faster, more efficient purification, Super Ioniser to ensure constant flow of naturally healthy air by generating rich negative ions and a Blue fin Condenser, coated with a rustproof anti-corrosive coating, making it last three times longer than normal condensers.
