AUD students win 5 IFEX awards

Interior Design students from the American University in Dubai won 5 out of the total 6 awards during the Annual IFEX Design Exhibition that was held in Abu Dhabi.
"The IFEX Design Awards represent a tangible form of recognition by the Interior Design Industry for the efforts of AUD students and faculty in the pursuit of design excellence.
That we were able to secure 5 out of the 6 awards on the night, was testimony to an outstanding collective performance by members of the Department of Interior Design," said Dr John Alexander Smith, Chair of the Department of Interior Design at the American University in Dubai
Maryam Halbisaz Ghaffari won the first prize for Classic Design Furniture, Elnaz Ghaffari won first prize for Contemporary Furniture Design, Ayesha Khan and Dariush Zarrinjooee bagged the first and second prize consecutively for Architecture, and finally Hala Al Fawaz got second prize for the Interior Design category.
It is to be noted that in addition to the above 5 students, AUD's Rana Noorbarish, Maysam Ghaffari and Sahar Arbabioon were also nominated for the Contemporary Furniture Design and Interior Design categories.
"I am really proud of my dedicated students who worked hard for IFEX. It was a good experience for them specially that most of them prepared 3 weeks only prior to the exhibition. We are looking forward to next year when we hope to have more preparation time" said Hala Al Madfai, Associate Professor of Interior Design at the university.
