- United Arab Emirates: Monday, March 14 - 2005 at 14:54
- PRESS RELEASE
Leading UAE-based architectural and engineering consulting firm, Dewan Architects and Engineers is looking forward to a strong participation in the MEED Conference on 'Major Project Developments in Dubai'.
With the UAE's real estate sector growing rapidly, the competition has heated up with large, innovative projects announced on a regular basis. The entry of foreign real estate developers has added on to the pace of the market, with local architectural & construction corporations required to adapt and keep up with the quality and speed of real estate developments within Dubai.
Reflecting the growth and expansion within Dubai's property market, the MEED conference will outline the latest developments through up-to-date status reports and in-depth analyses on key projects. The event will also include expert comments and analyses from key speakers on different aspects of the opportunities and prospects within the real estate sector.
Dewan will participate in the panel session on 'Assessing the key challenges of the "fast-track" culture for contractors within Dubai'. Speaking on the subject, Mohamed Al Assam, Founder and Managing Director of Dewan will elaborate on the challenges faced by Dewan in playing a balancing act between meeting stringent deadlines and large project requirements. He will also detail the role played by contractors in fulfilling the client's needs within record time while ensuring quality at par with international standards.
"There is a pressing need to discuss a number of issues, which are a resultant of the sheer volume of huge projects within Dubai. While meeting client requirements in terms of size and design, it is of utmost importance to conform with safety standards, especially since most residential, commercial and entertainment projects involve high altitudes and are densely-populated. In the face of competition and deadlines, it is essential to take every precautionary measure to maintain high safety averages," said Mohamed Al Assam, Founder and Managing Director of Dewan.
"Though the size and volume of projects are major challenges by themselves, the greatest challenge lies in finding out a balancing equation between the speed of execution, quality, safety and aesthetic quality of the development. These issues will be discussed over during the conference," Mr. Al-Assam added.
Al Assam will present in his session the "Fast-Track" phenomenon in view of the rapid pace of development in Dubai. The presentation will detail the trends, benefits and risks along with the solutions associated with the "fast track" culture in Dubai's real estate sector. Other topics which will also be addressed include the market demand for property, speculation, investments and various other related issues in this exciting sector.
