The Communication and Information Technology Student Committee IEEE at Princess Sumaya University for Technology holds Expotech 2005 Workshop

The Communication and Information Technology Student Committee IEEE, the Princess Sumaya University branch, held an Expotech 2005 workshop that was attended by a number of students from the Princess Sumaya University for Technology.

The workshop aimed to develop student academic and practical experience and to enhance their future abilities in the field of communication technology.

The workshop also aims to improve student technical skills in a manner that goes in line with their university requirements in addition to instilling in the students the concepts of leadership and teamwork, and introducing them to the latest developments that are taking place in the world of technology and communication in Jordan and the world at large, as well as supporting their future vision with the needed sciences and preparing them for practical life.

The workshop will be held at the Princess Sumaya University for Technology Friendship auditorium between 9/3/2005 and 24/3/2005. The workshop programme includes several lectures and working papers presented by various experts from the Jordanian private sector that specializes in technology and communication as the workshops will address several specialized subjects including wireless communication, Linux GNU, Oracle, specialized management, information technology in Jordan, and innovative leadership skills.

About PSUT
The Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) is a non- profit private specialized Jordanian University owned by the leading applied research centre in Jordan, the Royal Scientific Society (RSS). Its area of specialization is IT, Communications and Electronics. Being non- profit, and owned by a non- profit public institution, PSUT partakes of both worlds, public and private. It is more akin to public universities in mission, but more so to the private sector in drive and spirit. Right from the start, PSUT has accommodated itself to both local development and modernization plans and global developments.

PSUT was established in 1991 as a specialized IT university.

Currently, it confers a B.Sc. degree in each of the following majors:
1. Computer Science (established in 1991).
2. Electronics Engineering (established in 1993).
3. Computer Engineering (established in 2001).

PSUT is a fully accredited university, and acquired its license and general accreditation from the Jordanian Council for Higher Education in 1991. It has subsequently acquired specialized accreditation for the first two majors.

PSUT has acquired a reputation, both nationally and regionally, for being a leading IT university in the area, as witnessed by the increasing demand for its graduates, particularly in the private IT sector.
