Philips honoured by Plug-ins Electronix for innovative product launch
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, March 15 - 2005 at 11:50
- PRESS RELEASE
Philips Electronics was awarded recently by Plug-ins Electronix, the leading powerhouse retailer in the UAE, for its innovative way of launching the Philips Pixel Plus 2 TV with Ambilight technology.
"Philips is delighted to receive this award from a company that is not only one of the UAE's leading consumer electronics retailers but a Philips retailer as well," said Khalid Tuer, Consumer Electronics General Manager for Philips Middle East & Africa region. "The honour reflects the tremendous efforts that our sales and marketing teams put into the introduction of each new product. This job, of course, is made more challenging and more rewarding when it involves working with such exceptional, ground-breaking technology."
Pixel Plus 2 creates super sharp, super detailed pictures with a greater impression of depth than any other image enhancement technology. Taking the input signal from any source - terrestrial television, cable, DVD, digital TV - Pixel Plus 2 applies one of the most advanced digital processors available in the consumer market with a unique suite of 17 different image processing improvements.
Movies appear crisper and sharper with the 3D Digital Combfilter and 3D Digital Noise Reduction, which make images brighter and improve colours while retaining sharpness. Sports viewing is more exciting with Digital Natural Motion, a technology that detects blurring caused by movement, and ensures a sharp and steady image from start to finish.
Complementing Pixel Plus 2 is Philips' Ambilight ambient lighting technology. Totally unique to Philips, this technology enhances the TV and viewing atmosphere by projecting background lighting built into the back of the TV onto the wall behind the set. This provides a soft 'glow' around the TV set and enables the eye to see pictures clearly and without straining.
