More than 60 medical doctors from Saudi Arabia, the highest number of any Arab nation, will attend the prestigious 20th Congress of the European Association of Urology taking place from 16 to 19 March 2005 in Istanbul, Turkey.

During the congress, urologists, urological residents, urological scientists, and other professionals will review urological research as well as clinical progress and practice.

"An enormous international exchange of high quality, scientific information will be made available to us through high-level meeting sessions, state-of-the-art lectures, educational courses, and focused satellite symposia," said Dr. Hamza AL Sissi, one of the Saudi delegates to the conference.

"Of particular interest for Saudi's doctors will be a course entitled: 'Medical and Surgical Management of Erectile Dysfunction,' because we physicians in the Kingdom want to learn more about the proper prescription of sildenafil, vardenafil, and tadalafil, three oral ED medications which are commonly taken in Saudi Arabia," added Dr. Al Sissi.

Sildenafil, which Pfizer trades in the Kingdom under the brand name Viagra, for example, has recently been scientifically proven to produce longer-lasting, harder erections with no side-effects, and is believed to be the number one choice among Saudi physicians prescribing ED medication to patients.

Following the international launch of the Pfizer VICTORY program at last year's Congress of the European Association of Urology held in Vienna, Austria, several new Middle East "Viagra patient ambassadors" have voluntarily joined the program, including a few from Saudi Arabia.

"Erectile dysfunction is a very common condition among men in the Kingdom. But unlike many men, I sought medical attention almost immediately after determining that I might be able to benefit from Viagra, and that one visit to my urologist has changed my entire life," said Haidar Said, a Riyadh-based VICTORY ambassador.

"Doctors can tell you about limitations with ED drugs, but my body is able to tell me what works and what doesn't. I recommend Viagra to family and friends without reservation - it's safe, it's quick, and it works every time," said Said.

Pfizer is a platinum corporate sponsor of the 20th Congress of the European Association of Urology.
