DCCI receive Finish delegation

Mr. Abdul Rahman G. Al Mutaiwee Director General of DCCI in attendance of Mr. Sultan Lootah Business Promotion Manager received the delegation. In his speech Mr. Al Mutaiwee pointed the raise in Dubai foreign trade he said "Dubai's international trade during the past few years has witnessed remarkable growth to reach US$ 42 Billion in 2003 compared with US $26 Billion in 2000 registering an increase of 61 percent and an annual average growth rate of 15 percent"

Mr. Al Mutaiwee showcased Dubai as a leading city in re-exports in the region he said:" Dubai is considered the regional and international hub for imports and re-exports of various types of goods to the Gulf Region and the rest of the world. He added" Re-exports from Dubai to the out side world value US $ 12 billion in the year 2003".

He appreciated the increase in bilateral trade between Dubai and Finland Saying" Dubai and Finland have maintained progressive bilateral trade during the recent five years, non oil trade transactions between the two sides have increased substantially from US $ 173 million in 2000 to US.$ 225 million in the year 2003 which equal 827 million Dhs"

Mr. Al Mutaiwee assured Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry readiness to extend all possible facilities and cooperate with Finish businessmen and entrepreneurs to set up business interests in Dubai and to promote joint venture and direct investment in the two countries.

The head of the delegation said there are 25 finish companies are running in the UAE most of them located in Dubai. He mentioned that the total exports from Finland to Dubai reached one Billion Euro last year from their statistics. He hoped this visit will enhance and strengthen the friendshio and cooperation relationship between two countries, s well as creating links between the business communities in the two countries, establishing joint venture projects and increasing the mutual trade transactions between two side.

At the end of the meeting businessmen in both sides explained the type of investments that they are looking for the sectors and possible opportunities in both countries.
