GCC sales of camera phones are growing at the fastest rate in the world, according to international research. Camera phones now account for 40 per cent of the region's mobile phone sales. The Saudi government lifted a ban on camera phones in the Kingdom and sales leapt to USD179m in 2004, a 65 per cent increase on 2003, while in the UAE the market grew 30 per cent to USD171m.
