Intel concludes technology awareness roadshow for consumers in the UAE
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, March 17 - 2005 at 09:26
- PRESS RELEASE
Intel last week concluded their consumer technology roadshow entitled 'Enjoy the Digital Lifestyle' which followed an experiential approach by providing users in the UAE with a venue to try out the latest PC usage models, based on mobile computing and digital home technologies.
"The roadshow which attracted a large number of visitors was an excellent way to enable us to deliver our message about the benefits of technology to our audience in the UAE, where the youth constitute a majority of the population. The UAE government has also identified the need to conduct intensive awareness programs in order to support the spread of ICT skillsets, which is what Intel hopes it achieved with the conclusion of this roadshow," said Samir Al-Schamma, Intel's general manager in the GCC.
The display reflected a digital family room, featuring wirelessly interlinked PCs and consumer electronic devices. New PC users were able to use Intel's PC basics tutorial software, whereas the more skilled visitors competed in a variety of computer games where 3 winners walked away with state of the art laptop and desktop computers based on the IntelŪ Centrino™ mobile technology or the IntelŪ PentiumŪ 4 processor with hyper threading technology. Movie lovers were also able to experience the latest in in-home digital entertainment, by streaming films wirelessly from the computer onto the TV screen, via a digital media adapt.
