- PRESS RELEASE
Pegasus Yachting, the fully-owned leisure maritime division of the Dubai-based Pegasus Group, which has a leading presence in the emirate's freehold real estate sector, today entered into a marketing partnership with Argentine boat maker, Compania Constructora de Embarcaciones S.A, one of the leading global leisure vessel makers.
Announcing the partnership on the sidelines of the Dubai Boatshow 2005, organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and currently underway at the Dubai International Marina Club, senior representatives of Pegasus Yachting said that the agreement will pave the way for the company to strengthen its presence in the leisure maritime sector of the region and beyond.
Commenting on the marketing relationship with the Argentine company, Mr. Imtiaz Panjwani, Managing Director, Pegasus Emirates FZE, said: "The partnership comes at a time when the leisure maritime sector is passing through a growth phase in line with the economic upswing of many regional countries. At Pegasus Yachting, we believe in providing best-of-the-breed yachts and services and this partnership will enhance our reputation in the market."
Under the terms of the partnership, Pegasus Yachting will be the exclusive distributor of the Argentine company's Aqualum range of vessels and will promote the brand in the region and beyond.
"Pegasus Yachting will market the Aqualum range in the GCC countries apart from markets like Iran, Pakistan, India, Seychelles, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Yemen," Mr. Panjwani said.
"We consider our relationship with Compania Constructora de Embarcaciones, a milestone development in our business strategy for Pegasus Yachting, which we launched recently. With the eclectic array of marina-themed residential and leisure developments in Dubai particularly, and the region in general, demand for yachts and services are definitely on an upward growth curve," he added.
Terming the agreement with Pegasus Yachting as a significant development for the company, Mr. Luis Lopez Blanco, Chairman, Compania Constructora de Embarcaciones, said: "We are extremely excited to join hands with Pegasus Yachting, which is based in Dubai, acclaimed as the hub of the region's yachting and leisure maritime industry. Our partnership will bring in best in the class globally benchmarked leisure vessels to the region through Pegasus Yachting."
"We believe that the countries Pegasus Yachting will cover for us are booming markets for the leisure maritime sector. We are confident that Pegasus Yachting will drive growth for us in these markets aggressively, helping us increase the presence and share of our brand," he added.
Pegasus Yachting was launched recently after a study by the company revealed that the yachting industry in Dubai, other key Gulf markets and the region was on the threshold of an explosive growth. Developments like The Palm Jumeirah, The Palm Jebel Ali, The Palm Deira and The World islands from Nakheel, as well as developments from EMAAR Properties, will accelerate the demand scenario for the yachting industry.
