Babyshop gets a facelift
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, March 17 - 2005 at 15:58
- PRESS RELEASE
One of the largest retail chains in the GCC, Landmark Group, recently completed an exhaustive overhaul for one of its most popular stores, Babyshop.
In an effort to update the quality and atmosphere of Babyshop, the Sharjah branch, situated on Al Qassimia Street, has undergone substantial refurbishments, aimed to alter it entirely. Among the changes is a novel approach to presentation and merchandising, more trolleys available at key locations, easy signs to indicate different areas, centralized cash points and special music and lighting designed to create a fun, pleasant shopping environment. In line with these innovations, the store has employed highly trained staff members from different nationalities, who will be able to serve a greater variety of customers.
The store features a special mother's room where babies can be fed, have their nappies changed and even be left to sleep. Furthermore, the new-look Babyshop has a prayer room, which allows its customers to pray even if they are shopping.
The store also carries some of the world's leading brands in children's clothing to its existing list of favorites. For instance, the Adidas line has been introduced to cater to children's sporting requirements.
Having successfully established Babyshop as a one-stop-shop for mothers and mothers-to-be, the management is now focusing on creating a comfortable and fun shopping environment for the entire family. The remodeled store aims to capture children's imagination with its spacious layout and uplifting, friendly atmosphere.
The renovated store boasts a 10,000 sq. ft. nursery with a large screen TV, which will be playing select children's movies throughout the day as well as a pair of backlit signs located outside the store, two meters in height. There is also a designated play area for children, where they can try the toys themselves and get an actual feel for the products.
The customer-oriented changes were conceived with the purpose of creating a contemporary shopping experience at par with international retail standards. The Sharjah branch will become one of the flagship stores that demonstrate Babyshop's unique market position, as well as its ambitious and forward-looking development plans.
T.S. Vedapuri, General Manager at Babyshop, UAE, expressed enthusiasm regarding the modern innovations. "We, at Babyshop, aim to provide customers with unique and pleasurable surroundings, where parents and children can shop in a leisurely climate," he explained. "We hope that our store will become a popular hot spot with kids, who will no doubt benefit from this exciting, interactive and certainly progressive shopping experience. The mother's room offers a place of comfort for both mother and child while the prayer room offers customers the chance to pray when they are shopping and means that no one has to miss out on prayer timings".
External refurbishments have also been made, giving the building an attractive, contemporary look; in addition to plans for better parking amenities, with more monitored and controlled access points, ample spaces and a secure environment.
The store is receiving positive feedback for the changes that have been made and has already reported an increase in sales. "We are confident that this store has a bright future," beamed Vedapuri.
