HH Sheikh Hamdan met with the members of the Higher Organising Committee of the DIAHC and was briefed about the preparations for the upcoming championships and the DIHF which is being held alongside the championships.

HH Sheikh Hamdan expressed his satisfaction with the arrangements made so far and encouraged the members of the Higher Organising Committee to make even greater efforts to ensure that the DIAHC sets new standards of excellence as the world's leading showcase for the beauty and capabilities of the Arabian horse breed.

The second edition of the DIAHC, which will be held at the DWTC Complex from March 28th to 30th, has attracted over 248 entries this year from all over the world. The Championship is the most prestigious competition of its kind in the world. It is a beauty competition for purebred Arabian horses, from the very young to the elderly statesmen of the Arabian equine world.

The 2004 event was a huge success with 229 horses competing for US$204,000 in prize money. The Championship will now run over 3 days with both morning and afternoon/evening sessions. It commences on Monday the 28th of March 2005 concluding on Wednesday the 30th of March 2005.

The Championship will be enhanced in 2005 with the inaugural Dubai International Horse Fair, which will take place from 27th to 30th March. The Horse Fair will run alongside the Championship and will cater to everyone in the equestrian world from trade to consumers.
