According to Waleed Kanoo, the CEO of Creative Knowledge, the announcement of EDB support to Global ICT Summit Bahrain 2005, represents a significant step forward in promoting the Kingdom of Bahrain through the overseas offices of the Bahrain EDB.

'We are very pleased to announce that the Economic Development Board has decided to support FutureIT and Global ICT Summit Bahrain 2005. One of the major objectives of this yearly event is to promote the Kingdom of Bahrain as the regional gateway for global organizations. In this aspect we recognize the important role being played by EDB which aims to develop the Kingdom as a compelling global hub for business and investment, creating a superior investment environment for international companies serving the global market.'

Dr. Zakaria Hijres, the Deputy CEO at the Economic Development Board said, 'The Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) has placed the Information Technology (IT) and telecommunications industries at the forefront of Bahrain's priorities for attracting inward investment. The EDB considers FutureIT an event which is of strategic importance and complements the broad initiative of supporting the ICT sector in Bahrain. Given the large number of international corporations in Bahrain, it is only logical that Bahrain is able to meet these companies' IT requirements from a local base. The EDB has recognized that FutureIT has grown and developed over the last two years to such an extent that the international community identifies this event as one that is a permanent fixture on their event calendars, proving once again, that Bahrain is the ideal place for their business in the region.'
