Nokia launches the Arabic-enabled Nokia 9500 Communicator

Nokia announced today the Arabic-enabled Nokia 9500 Communicator, another step in its ongoing commitment to providing innovative and cutting-edge mobile devices for business users across the Middle East and North Africa.

The official launch was held in the presence of H.E. Sheikh Ali Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Bahrain Minister of Communications, who ceremonially unveiled the phone at the Nokia stand at the Telecom Arabiya 2005 exhibition and conference.

"As the regional leader in mobile communications, Nokia is pleased to introduce this Arabic-enabled Nokia 9500 Communicator. For us, 'connecting people' means more than just a commitment to develop the best phones for work and life; it means providing the language interfaces that enhances the Arabic user's experience with these powerful devices," said Eddie Maalouf, General Manager Nokia Middle East and North Africa.

Not only does Nokia develop Arabic interfaces for nearly all its phones sold in the region, but the Nokia Middle East and North Africa website (www.nokiamena.com) can be accessed in Arabic, as well as in English and French.

The Arabic-enabled Nokia 9500 Communicator makes the most popular office solutions mobile by putting email, personal information management, browsing, enterprise-class applications and even word processor, spreadsheet and presentation creation into the pockets of mobile professionals, allowing them to use their time effectively while away from the office.

Leading corporate information and communications technology vendors support the Nokia 9500 Communicator with applications and software built especially for the device. Nokia's close collaboration with these vendors provides corporate customers with best-in-class solutions that enable them to mobilize business processes and make effective and secure remote connections to their existing IT infrastructures.
