"This is the very first IT exhibition to be held by a High School in Dubai. We saw it as the perfect opportunity to fulfil a social corporate responsibility and a way to spread important IT knowledge and inspire creativity amongst the youth of our community," commented Azza Sajdi, Brand Manager of Dubai Internet City.

The event was inaugurated through a cake-cutting ceremony by Mr. Khalaf Al Habtoor, Chairman of Al Habtoor Group, Mr. Mohammed Al Habtoor, Chairman of Emirates International School, and Mr. Fareed Abdulrahman, Director of Sales at Dubai Internet City.

The event was a means of raising awareness of new developments in information technology, to help students learn about the ways in which some of these technologies can help them, and to provide students with a broad sense of opportunities in the fast growing industry. Some topics discussed were image processing, sound synthesis, networking systems, printing technology, e-learning systems, computer accessories and web hosing.

The Emirates International School Information Technology Exhibition (EIS ITEX) was a two day event organized by the High School's Computer Department. It was held from 10 am until 3.30 pm, at the Emirates Theatre of the School campus in Dubai.

The Emirates International School is owned and managed by the Al Habtoor Group as a community service. Academic programs provided are for the Primary, Junior and High School Grades, which range from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The age level for these grades ranges between 4 and 18 years. Graduates are able to meet criteria for entrance into major colleges and universities throughout the world.

The school is accredited by Middle States Association (Philadelphia) and recognized by both IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate - Geneva. The school also has membership in the ECIS, NE/SA and BSME organizations.
